  • Grinder help..

Hey all.. I have a Breville Smart Grinder Pro and an EM7000. Yesterday I was in a jam and had to buy commercial brand coffee beans (lavazza) until I could get to my usual caffeine dealer. Using this coffee I cannot get the pressure up on my shots, even with the finest grind setting.. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

    Thanks.

Yes- they're stale. Take them back to the stoopidmarket and ask for a refund.

They were on special, now I know why! I'll likely just trash them (only a small bag) and get over to my usual roasters.

      Thanks.

I doubt you would find any beans at a major supermarket that aren't stale. One of the local roasted beans are available in some and they have a roasted date and at times are quite fresh.

        Cheers

Interestingly, we were reduced to supermarket beans over the new year. No pressure problems but man were they oily / sticky. Had to give the grinder a solid clean afterwards. Also barely drinkable without milk.
