Um not sure if it'll fit the M2M. They sell different collar sizes and you use the same worm drive. Part numbers below.

Is it worth going for a Macap M2M or Compak K3 Push over a Macap MXA?

That looks to be exactly the same stepless adjustment setup as fitted on the M4D.

Is there a stepless kit available for M2M as well? I find the steps are not small enough on my M2M.

The only "upgrade" in my opinion, would be that it's smaller than the MXA which you said was too big...
In terms of quality in the cup, there's no difference...

Thanks for the recommendations on the M4D. How much would it be an upgrade on the MXA? I suppose I'm trying to work out if it's worth the $1000 spend. :-)

Just a foot Note: Our Macap M4D moved our coffee into a totally new dimension of taste.

Thanks Symphonie and Mal for your replies.
A Macap M4D would be nice but I probably couldn't justify the spend even though it'll be a smaller footprint and less noisy...

The steps on the MXA are so small that there will be no detectable difference between this and any other decent grinder.
If it's an issue of size, then very hard to bypass the Macap M4D - A terrific grinder. There are also some competitors to the M4D these days, from Rocket, ECM and Compak, so might be worth your while to go check them all out...

I have a M2M and its stepped too like your MXA, I upgraded from a SmartGrinder Pro I've only seen minor differences in the cup so far (less clump though).

I've got a Macap MXA and it does a good job with grinding.
However, the drawbacks for me is that it is rather large, loud, has a doser and is stepped in it's adjustments.
So with that in mind I'm considering going for an M2M or K3 Push or anything in that price range.
My questions are:
1. Will these grinders improve what I get in the cup?
2. Will the M2M/K3 be a bit more quieter than the MXA? (this might be hard to guage...)
Thanks!
