well now it is what i would have expected. around 50 mins later and conicals are down to 10, whilst still 18 flats left. must be an interesting situation for denis when he can get such interest in his product. clearly there is still alot of work in it for him otherwise why run such limited numbers.

anyway good luck to anyone interested in picking one up.

no longer shipping with a wooden cap. Denis is sayng there will be a cap, but a wood one is an optional extra. i don't know why but i find the idea of paying $40 US for a wooden cap a bit much. that's reasonable however juxtaposed against the purchase of the entire grinder (which is not cheap), it really doesn't stack up.

30 minutes after orders opened and 9 of each are gone, 21 left.

now just gotta wait 3 months. aarrrgghhh!!!!!!

flats ahead of the conicals!!! 23 to 25. could it be that their dreamy looks have swayed the great unwashed?

I would say the best looking grinder I've seen would have to be the Titus.

re: aesthetics i cannot think of a pretty grinder than the monolith flat other than the ek-43. i do love the versalab one too but mainly the bean dispenser that looks super cool on that one (IMHO).

The Monolith looks well finished and super compact/solid. Nothing hollow about it, unlike the Mythos or K30 - when you tap on the body it's obviously a thin piece of sheet metal/plastic.

If someone is looking for a beauty, I think the Versalab is unbeatable, followed by the HG-1 (huge bench space hogger though, good thing that it looks great).

The real test though is when you use them - early days, but the Monolith brought lots of smile on my face. I've never had that much satisfaction even when I get the Versalab or HG-1 new so I don't think it's a new toy syndrome/honeymoon effect.

Gawd, I sound like a fan boy.
Yes it is solidly made, quite heavy for its small size. And what it's made for, single dossing it's awesome. I like the look of it and compact size. It looks better on the bench than the massive huge Kony I had.
