    Can understand that mate...
With that beautiful Slayer on the bench, what sits next to it has got to "fit"....

I did vote for a nano second grind. It may be that the future is just to fill the portafilter with beans then put the portafiler in the grind chamber where they turn in just a nanosecond into a perfect grind with an ideal size distribution and no clumping....

The excess energy issue is taken care of by a shift backwards in the time/space matrix, simultaneously absorbing the energy and making the 10 second time to complete the destruction seem like a nanosecond.

For my next grinder, the amount of mess produced is going to be high up on the wish list. I could definitely sacrifice some grind speed to have less mess to clean up afterwards..... but I do keep my gear meticulously clean [emoji5]

From a Talk Coffee perspective, it's not so much about speed, rather value within a price category.

Loved my Kony-E which has now been replaced with a faster, but messier E-10. It was an aesthetics thing for me. Not a zac of difference in the cup and an always on fan as well in the E-10. It's getting a gag this week.

Admit it you'd be happier if you ripped the motor out and put a hand crank in.

After that mod drill a hole in your iPhone 7 for the speaker jack

Assuming the same grind quality, I would take low noise over speed any day of the week.
All conversation stops while my grinder does its thing.
It may only be for 25 second bursts but still a PITA.
    One day I'd love a HG-1

Give me 10 seconds of noise over 20 any day. The vibe pump in my Rocket Giotto is a whisper by comparison.
K3 elite wbc grinder at the moment but when I have the money I'll be going up to a 10 second doserless grinder

At least the Flintstones had a little dinosaur in their appliances to do the hard work.

Here is a picture of an early espresso grinder. The monkey is there to eat then shit the coffee beans out which are then made into coffee and sold to passersby. The machine also plays music for entertainment while grinding the beans (which lets face it is rather boring and time consuming). The idea was the precursor to the civet bean munching monkeys in Indonesia. An early version of Kopi Luwak.

My apologies, I finally couldn't help myself.

A bit of monkey business to entertain...

My M7D grinds 18 grams in 3.6 seconds. If you told me that I could exchange it for a motorised grinder that would make considerably better coffee but would take 1 min to grind the shot it would be off my bench before you could finish your sentence.
