The Ninja is looking for the 'Blow Up' attachment for his grinder? I think your inbox will definitely be on the Signals Directorate radar now

Poor Antony, after having shipments stopped for Italian stink bug by AQIS, he will now have ABF stopping them for Blow Up devices.

I can’t say where this came from but have a read of this. The Italian attitude to fumigation is interesting, they possibly need to cover there tracks a bit more when telling stories.

Oh the joys of importing from Italy !

Some might take this into account when your local supplier price is higher then online overseas !

        • Hi Antony

Any indications yet from suppliers on pricing / arrival to AU for the Atom Speciality 65 or 75 versions with Red Speed burrs ?

          • Great story Antony, shows the tenacity of AQIS. Also shows the psyche of Italian fumigators! Then again, when you realise that Italy started including estimates for prostition and drug dealing in their GDP a few years back, maybe it is a national psyche - everything is ok as long as you don't get caught.

Was going to contact Antony at Casa Espresso who seems to be the resident sponsor most enthusiastic about the Atom. The Eureka webpage on it is here - https://www.eureka.co.it/en/plus/id/113.aspx I think a poor job by whomever named it, doesn't represent how it works and also means if you use the full name it will get looked at every time you ship it plus all google searches will be noted. Good news is it seems to be available for the Atom and was displayed on an Atom 65 at World of Coffee in Amsterdam recently.

              Ok

So I have got my hands on one of the new Eureka “blow up” devices.

Imported as a “grinder accessory “ so that ASIO didn’t come knocking at my door at 4am in the morning.

What I would like to do is get some real world opinions from some CS members.

Any one with a Eureka round style hopper get in contact with me and I will send it to you for some testing and feedback.

              Cheers

Would love to cause I'm sort of a disbeliever but alas, I'm in the USA. I use some pretty dark and very oily beans and need to clean my hopper and grinder bits often. I can imagine that the Blow Up device will only really work with dry beans, correct?

                • The test "blow up " device has headed off to the first CS tester today.

                  Looking forward to the feedback.

There are a couple of others in the line for testing as well. Will be interesting to get the reviews from 3 or 4

                  cheers

                  • Hopefully they can also make a short video of the hopper in action

Multiple use cases can be done aswell: blow up used in single dose, used with hopper full, etc.

                    • I’ll happily buy a round hopper to be in the testing group Antony. But I suspect the ship has sailed.

                              Mesmer,

It is basically a "bellows" type system that pushes air through the chute.

I have one out in the field right now being tested by fellow CS.

We should get some real world feedback soon

                              Cheers
