  • I have a completely different grinder so this may be irrelevant, but try changing the adjustment to a much coarser setting.
Sometimes I get a bean stuck which stops the whole motor starting.
    Worth a try.

    • Thanks for the help, the interior should be clean, I disassembled it, I changed the motor capacitor in case it failed (it was fine since with the new one it does the same problem). I recorded a new video, the problem is clearer.

I thought I had it fixed and the problem was grinding the beans too fine, but it wasn't, if I try to grind too fine it's hard to grind and hardly any coffee comes out, but even if I grind coarse so that the coffee falls out too fast, it gets blocked and the grinder doesn't work.

      There goes the video:

      • I had this problem with dark roasted oily beans in the Atom. What beans are you using? Mine were from Merlo and kept clogging the funnel and burr surrounds. Also after you clean out the schute and burr assembly, I would wash everything in hot soapy water to remove coffee oils, let it dry and try some different beans.

        • The good thing with the 65 and 75 coming out is that the original 60 can be had for $900 with shipping so decided to buy one.

              • From whomever as the original gets cleared.

Capitalism at work or progress, maybe a bit of both as they put more into the chassis and reduce grind retention further

Pretty sure your problem is related to the electronic control system, not the physical mechanical part of the grinder.
It needs to be properly troubleshot by a qualified person to identify what is happening.
If it is still under warranty, I would advise getting it repaired or replaced that way.

                  Mal.

                  • Ahh yes. Mr Dodgy ex. sponsor who was unceremoniously kicked out and had it coming. More clickbait or something which really exists?

He's at more than that with free local delivery only. Amongst his suspect reviews for milk jugs and other small stuff, one grinder buyer who was shafted by him when warranty should have applied.

You gets what you pays for. FWIW, the grinder is not in run out nor being cleared.

                    • Lots on sale for $900 mark. Voldemort never gave me issues. I like the guy. Third grinder I got from him.

Yes, heaven forbid a rattle should appear. It is like having a new car and having to put up with a rattle for hours while driving...

                          • Yep- every group desires a moving target whilst the cup vibrates it way off the cup tray an onto the floor. Perfection we call that.

Brings to mind Newtons third law "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction" worth contemplating.
