Hi guys,
As my coffee journey continues it has taken me to purchase an Victoria Arduino Mythos One. I just wanted to give opinions on this grinder for the home user who is potentially looking to buy one. My previous grinder was a Kony E, which was no slouch and pretty much did the job! However upgrad-itis kicked in and well; with the Mahlkonig peak out of the question the next grinder on my list was the Mythos One.

It’s pretty rectangular and very futuristic looking. My wife doesn’t really mind the design but isn’t a fan of it either. One thing I didn’t realise, was that it had barista lights I feel do nothing of the grinder.

Grinds are much more “fluffier” than that on the Kony E and a little less clumpy too.
Both dialled in, I thought I wouldn’t really notice too much of a difference however that wasn’t the case. I found that the Kony E produced more body while the Mythos One accentuated more fruitier undertones, even through milk. I kept the brew ratio the same on both grinders which may have affected my overall outcome.
Now to pros with the Mythos:
Less wastage ( in terms of clearing the throat when changing grinds and also when doing the morning purge)
Using the turning knob on the Mythos One is so much easier that using the super stiff mazzer collar on the Kony
You can definitely single dose ( not that I really do that anyway)

Cons:
May be a design issue or not, but coffeebeans often get stuck in the throat
Slow ( Speed isn’t too much of an issue at home)
· I just wanted to add I didn’t really mention much on the heated burrs as I don’t wait for them to heat up when I make my morning coffee.
I hope it was an enjoyable read.
Cheers,
Shayne
