  • Mazzer availability- July onwards....

    Received this morning from Saeco:

    "RE: MAZZER & CMA DISTRIBUTOR

I am not sure if you have already been informed that Saeco Int. Aust P/L no longer hold the distribution for MAZZER & CMA.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused."

Hopefully a new importer will be appointed quickly. Supply this year has been laughable at best.....

      Hi Chris,

Thanks, yes, we have received the same notification from Saeco, cant say it came as a surprise..

We are lucky to have never been under their mercy and to be able to keep our Mini Mazzers stock level unharmed...

I very much doubt that Greg. The distributor has set retail margins which are some of the tightest I have ever seen....so I reckon there will be a much better chance of seeing Pullman Tampers at 10% off :P

Realistically though, I cant see mazzer maintaining anywhere the market share that they have had pre 2007...Im still in shock..

Nah what I meant is that Ill sell my Mini after July at 10% off its RRP at that time! Based on my last grinder sale it should last, ooh, about 5 minutes maybe?

I think Arrogant is the word for it.

                        Whaaaaaa....

Just caught up with this thread....

All I can say is unbelievable. I cant see too many sales at those prices.

However those who currently have them will be laughing all the way to the bank. Their second hand price has suddenly appreciated significantly.

Maybe as the pursuit of quality coffee equipment in Australia gains momentum, more and more wholesalers will try to increase their profit margin...... a sign of things to come (and the Aussie dollar is also so strong at the moment).....

                          Not to worry Greg;

Di Bartoli is here at the rescue.....

Mini Mazzers Manual Silver is still available at the old RRP (and thats before your CS discount... )

At least for as long as stock lasts..

Arrogant is not the word, realistic would be more apt.

SAECO have been loss leading Mazzer Grinders for years - in order to boost their espresso machine sales.

The margins they had on Mazzers were unsustainable to run a business and offer proper after sales, service and support.

Why do you think SAECO International threw out the Australian Owner/Management out of SAECO Australia - losing money hand over fist.

The prices now offered are more realistic.

We will see if the old part owner of SAECO Australia will be able to offer the same slim margins on Mazzer without the resources of his old business behind him - I very much doubt it. Most other Australian Agents of Mazzer have realized this - thus the current more realistic adjustment of Mazzer Prices.

You want to buy a BMW you have to pay BMW prices.

                              This isnt necessarily the reason.
If they were selling at a loss to boost their espresso machine sales then that was their perogative.
Saeco International should still have been receiving their wholesale price.

If Saeco International sold me a grinder and I sold it to you for $1 what business is it of theirs?
I have to cover the warranty. You are my customer, not theirs.

As for the prices being put up by a new local supplier, that is to be expected if the old one was selling at a loss.

                              Simple business maths.
