Hi everyone,
Depending on the thread I read in these forums, the SunBeam 0480 and Breville BCG600 are either really good or really bad depending on peoples anecdotal experience (mostly good on here). And the Baratza Sette 270 has the same functions, nothing more, nothing less, but is good and most certaily not "or bad".
It just all sounds too anecdotal to me, and I'm having trouble figuring out if something more than twice the RRP (AUD$470) is worth the cost. Or if I should be looking to other models for around AUD$200?
For context, I've just purchased a Hario Cold Brew Bottle which requires a thick grind. So if I want anything other than this type of coffee, I need a different grind type. Considering I get most of my coffee at work, I need a grinder at home. Immediately it needs to be able to handle a thick grind for coldbrew, but I also plan to get a < AUD$2,000 espresso machine. So I need a grinder able to do thick grinds for summer coldbrew, and thin grinds for immediate espressos. Both reliably without shim exchanges.
From what I've read, the grinder is more important than most give credit, thus this thread. SunBeam 0480, Breville BCG600, jumping to Baratza Sette 270 or other. Guide me.
