Sette v the other options - not built to same ballpark for longevity.

    Not bad, just not same.

Steady on! I thinks the Sette 270w has quite a look to it, with a unique design. But it does lose points for the entry level looking control board.Functional not not pretty. Anyway beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Just aks my wife, still not sure what she sees in me ha ha!!

eek I hope they last a few years! Time will tell but wouldn't Its bigger brother, the Vario and their other grinders be an indicator as to expected longevity? The Vario seems well regarded from what I've seen.

    All the advice you need.

I think looks and adjustment mechanism for grind fineness are key - given everything is good (although Sette isn't commercial so won't last as long - and that's not anything against it, the commercial stuff just goes on and on and on in a home).
You need to look at it and use it every day.

Having read a gazillion grinder reviews, shoot-outs etc, my summary is: the differences are minimal as far as taste goes, only discernible in espresso and are 0 in milk.

Be happy there's so much awesome choice out there.

Thanks for that Paul appreciate it muchly (sorry for hijacking the thread a bit haha, what an attention seeker!), both seem great.. love all the features of the Sette (little to no grind retention, scales, which I'm sure can be overcome with just purging a little and using my other scales) but longevity is important.. hmm.. will ponder that haha

Nice ... and if you were going to add the M2M into the mix, what would your nice little 2 line synopsis be? ... and are any of them better suited or less effected by not having a weight of beans in the hopper?
