    Adjusting the dose size - mainly for cafe use as most home barista will be single dosing, but if you remove it, stray grinds may come out of the doser whilst grinding . The plate holds them in the dosing chamber until you pull the doser lever

    Thanks. So really for cafe rather than home use? I always wondered what the plate up and down screw did!

    It has two purposes;

    - Stops the grinds falling out through the dosing hole when grinding

    - Sets the dose size as it is adjustable - The lower or higher the plate is, it sets the dose size

    This is probably a dumb question, but if I am just grinding through the doser, does this sector plate serve any useful purpose? It certainly makes the doser more difficult to clean.
