*Finaly peels himself away from his Silvia*
Ok hey all,
First of all thanks Chris from Talk Coffee who got me an awesome machine, very very happy with it looking sexy on the bench in the kitchen over there... Now since i got the machine (picked it up like 3pm today) the only access to coffee i had was bought from my bean guy who ground it to "espresso machine" for me... Thought this would be cool and should be good, so turned the machine on got some water in it heated up so on and so forth... coffee in, tamped it (go the little shitty plastic tamp)... Results: LONG shot minimal head and more water then coffee, very watery, 25sec filled the 8oz glass
Sad way to finish the day, so it now looks like i am going to have to get my grinder earlier then i thought. So reading through this site i am confuzzeled, dont know what i want, so many different recommendations, basicly i know the general rule of thumb is buy the best you can afford.. Now realy how true is that? Seriously... Can i get a nice 400ish grinder and be happy with it?¿
Ultimately i am looking for some help pairing a grinder with my silvia..... After looking around from what ive read i seem to be pretty happy with the Ascaso I2 Conical. But then again i like the look of the rocky but here there are some issues with it with the silvia and not getting the right grind out of it... The Iberital Challenger is a no no for me as its (from what i read) too loud...
I am not sure what else is in that price range, am i asking to much for my price? I just dont know what to think, i mean i want to spend enought to keep me happy but dont want to spend to much and regret it later on.
So any help would be wonderful!
Cheers
