  • OE Lido 2 Replacement Jar

    Hey all,

I'm looking to replace my smashed OE Lido 2 glass jar.

Has anyone successfully used a jar from an Australian supermarket to replace the jar?

    Cheers!

I believe they are a 70-400 jar (70mm diameter at opening, 1 thread turn I think). Are their any condiments (vegemite) that you particularly fancy?

From memory I've got a Dick Smith Peanut Butter plastic jar as backup which fits…

I've tried a few jams but they didn't fit on the Lido 2. I guess I'll have to take my ruler to the supermarket. Does Vegemite definitely work?

Haven't tried it (my OE Lido E-T is at office, vegemite at home.....but looks about right). The vegemite and peanut butter 7cm 'jars' should be similar specs, so pick whichever one you are actually likely to eat.

I can confirm that at least a plastic Sanitarium peanut butter jar will fit. There must be many others out there. A quick visit to op shops and tip shops should reveal more.

So glad I saw this post! I was about to spend $40 on a replacement jar online.

That’s a good reuse recycle tip. Just getting back in to using the Lido 3 at the office and getting good espresso results with the Robot. I was wondering the other day what I might do if the jar dropped and cracked so I’ll keep this in mind.
