To clarify; Helor Stance is an Australian company. They are made here. What do they say about assuming?

I saw the Motor in the flesh yesterday and tasted the espresso. I was very impressed.

Sounds like plenty are impressed with the grinder.

I googled last night to see if Sam's review had come out and saw it on HB, well worth a read for those following this thread. Sam I must say a very impressive review by you! Lots of detail. Your video was very clear to give an idea of operation. From your review it does seem for those of us in Australia that this is effectively a half price Monolith (with differences of course) and you get that nice feeling of buying an Australian product.

I take it JMcCee you will be getting one to match the DE1+ ? I agree with your thoughts it visually looks a better match than their own grinder.

Thanks 338. Indeed, the Stance stood its ground even when placed side by side with the Monolith - at that price it's a bargain for us in Australia if you're in the market for a high-end grinder that single doses well. Now that the word is out, I think my Monolith resale value is gonna take a hit, ouch!

I am getting one but had to butter wife up with a few promises and like an idiot i was so excited about the flippin' grinder i forgot when to shut my big yap. She's gonna make my eyes bleed that woman before I get the damn grinder.

Sam did do a fantastic review and I think what with potential sales that will ensue from it they should give it to him on permanent loan - and he'll have to sell the Mono ..

              Cheap :-P

I couldn't decide between the Niche and the HSM so today I tossed a coin. I ordered the Helor Stance. Barry on Basecamp mentioned he was after a small single doser to go with his DE and was considering the Niche and the HSM..

                The HSM is 19kg

If the exchange rate swings back to parity, that will make the HSM an even better deal in Oz?

Appears to be moving in the wrong direction unfortunately.

Maybe they are expecting the majority of interest to be from o/s, and this gives a benchmark rate. Or it could give them a hedge against changes in exchange rates affecting the cost of manufacturing (if they are getting the work done in China, the Yuan is sort-of pegged against the USD). So, if the Aus dollar tanks, the rise in the AUD cost of manufacturing will be largely offset by the rise in the AUD equivalent selling price. Or some other reason.....
