To be fair, whilst looking how to pay I also missed the Paypal button and emailed them. I felt like a dunce but the Paypal button should be directly under the 'Buy' thingie at the top. I already sold my soul to wifey to get the thing and ended up paying by direct deposit.

So, if the Aus dollar tanks, the rise in the AUD cost of manufacturing will be largely offset by the rise in the AUD equivalent selling price. Or some other reason.....
^^All of the above plus there's a bit of clever marketing in there. OZ is a tiny market compared to America and beyond so it makes sense to gat paid in USD in other markets excluding Australia.

JMcCee, I think you made the wise choice with the Helor compared to the Niche. Plenty of manual Helor's in the wild and their reviews, Sam did that fantastic and very detailed review and you have actually seen and tasted the results form the Helor. All versus one review on the Niche and none actually shipped yet to know what production quality will be like. I also actually think the Helor Stance exceeds the looks of your DE1.

Plus the Helor is a bargain price per kilo! Less than I just paid for JBM and they are all gone, the Helor seems like lifetime investment

I think the Helors are made in Beijing or thereabouts. The Helor stuff we have came from them directly. Absolutely top quality.

We bought the 101 to test and the 102 was available as well.

The plot thickens. I wonder what, if any of the HSM components have Chinese origins.

I don't think it matters because the quality of the units I have are really impressive. We were looking for a small hand grinder to pair with our small Robot machine but they said they were not ready for mass production yet.

Well, you're probably right. I'm extremely happy with my Hong Kong made DE..

Who else ordered one of these and of those hardy souls, who has their unit?

                        I did!
I ordered Aug 28, which means I’m in the second batch. Mine just shipped this Monday and it needs to clear customs first, I’m in the USA
I’m optimistic I’ll see it by the end of next week.

I ordered about the same time, but being in Australia I got mine a few days ago. I've seen your reports on H-B about US deliveries, Rimblas. My question was more about how many other Aussies ordered one? I get the sense that probably not that many, but I could be wrong. I gather JMcCee did.

I have had mine for maybe 6 weeks now. I am really happy with its performance.

Likewise. It measures up to that Samuel Law review on H-B rather well. Since you're about five weeks ahead of me, can I ask a couple of questions? Did you go through a burr seasoning exercise or did you let it happen progressively? Related to another current thread about flow and distribution, are you grinding into the metal cup, or are you grinding direct into the portafilter? I haven't mastered the knack of getting good distribution from direct grinding, particularly into a VST, but if someone else has I may try again now that the burrs are seasoned.

Every time I see "Helor Stance Motor", I just keep thinking it's some massive red robot shooting lasers and destroying a city... don't know why, that image just comes to me!

Anyways, carry on! Looks like a cracker of a grinder!
