It's hard to know what the local sales have been. You'd think that if there had been a substantial number then there would be more action here on CS. But it may just be that the local owners aren't FFP (frequent forum posters). Also, that initial Samuel Law review was on HB, and that seems to have created a critical mass of discussion over on HB.

Thanks very much for the info. Seems a shame that a local product hasn't got more support at home. I wish then the best and will read thoroughly the post you suggested

Well, I just looked at their website and apparently Option-O and Helor have merged. There's a recent post on their news page about the dosing funnel. I've not seen any evidence that they're in trouble. The big issue is when they're going to reopen orders again, but an inability to order is not unusual for low volume speciality grinders, like the Monolith and Niche.Originally posted by Pretzal View PostAny news on this grinder? It seems like their website and instagram accounts have gone very quiet ...is everything ok?
There isn't much discussion about the HSM here on CS, which I take to mean that most purchases have been overseas, particularly the US. Hence why most of the discussion about the HSM is on this thread on HB. A number a of us have been in recent communication with Option-O and things seemed normal.

Hi Gunda,Originally posted by gunda View PostLikewise. It measures up to that Samuel Law review on H-B rather well. Since you're about five weeks ahead of me, can I ask a couple of questions? Did you go through a burr seasoning exercise or did you let it happen progressively? Related to another current thread about flow and distribution, are you grinding into the metal cup, or are you grinding direct into the portafilter? I haven't mastered the knack of getting good distribution from direct grinding, particularly into a VST, but if someone else has I may try again now that the burrs are seasoned.
I agree with you on what you said about Sam Law's HB review. It is what sold me on the idea of getting another grinder that I didn't really need!
I have a few machines and have found that the Helor p/f fork accommodates some but not all p/fs...so I grind into the metal cup.
I didn't try any seasoning regime. I have had really great results from the word go. The only real differences that I have noticed since Day #1 and now are that:-
*now there are less grounds remaining on the funnel after grinding.
*I have had to tighten the grind a tad (with the same beans) to get a mouse tail pour.
I don't use VST baskets, so can't comment there.

Every time I see "Helor Stance Motor", I just keep thinking it's some massive red robot shooting lasers and destroying a city... don't know why, that image just comes to me!
Anyways, carry on! Looks like a cracker of a grinder!

I have had mine for maybe 6 weeks now. I am really happy with its performance.

I ordered about the same time, but being in Australia I got mine a few days ago. I've seen your reports on H-B about US deliveries, Rimblas. My question was more about how many other Aussies ordered one? I get the sense that probably not that many, but I could be wrong. I gather JMcCee did.

I did!Originally posted by gunda View PostWho else ordered one of these and of those hardy souls, who has their unit?
I ordered Aug 28, which means I’m in the second batch. Mine just shipped this Monday and it needs to clear customs first, I’m in the USA
I’m optimistic I’ll see it by the end of next week.

I don't think it matters because the quality of the units I have are really impressive. We were looking for a small hand grinder to pair with our small Robot machine but they said they were not ready for mass production yet.Originally posted by JMcCee View PostThe plot thickens.
