  • Ceado E6P Electronic Dosing Grinder

There seems little information on Ceado grinders on this site and yet USA sites like "Whole latte Love" rave about them. I found one Australian supplier and there maybe more but they seem like a good value, solid high end doserless grinder comparable to Macap M4D and cheaper than the Rocket Fausto, ECMs and Profitec's high end grinders.

Anyone got one of these? Any sponsors sell them? Any opinions?

I seem to remember some chat about Ceado Grinders many years ago and from all accounts they are regarded very highly and of excellent build quality. I guess the only thing that might make you think twice about owning one, would be whether spares can be obtained easily and for a reasonable price. Might be worth checking with the Aussie Importer to see what they have to say...

I personally love the look of the Ceado E37S, and would probably buy one in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the sole Aussie distributor having such a poor reputation. I am anxiously awaiting one of our site sponsors to jump on the Ceado bandwagon and start supplying, although it will most likely not happen any time soon unfortunately. Seems like a great piece of kit.

Bang for buck is excellent on these. Widely seen and praised overseas but as you say one supplier is concerning and a possible deal breaker

Discussed before, the one supplier isn't here and is a retailer operating from Italy. The retailer gets pretty poor reviews https://www.productreview.com.au/p/n...fe-italia.html a solid 1.9 out of 5.

            Quote from their website:

Please note: Sometimes when we run out of stock in Australia, we have to ship some of our products directly from our main warehouse in Milano. You will not be charged for any extra shipping cost for that. It is may possible that you will get an international transaction fees debited by your bank in this rare occasion”

            Not worth the risk imho

And from other experiences reported "sometimes" is code for "always"

An ASIC search will provide the relevant information to any who want it.

There is no such company registered in Australia nor do they have an ABN. They do not pay tax, nor GST and there is no stock in Australia.

Your warranty and negligible customer support reside in Italy. Purchase at your own risk as the Australian looking website is a complete scam.

This is an Italian box seller operation with many disgruntled purchasers worldwide.

Further from Caffeinator's comments, plenty of reports of people getting asked for GST on the way in (as you would expect with an item of that value).

What a huge disappointment as I really like the way the bur system works and their adjustments compared to the traditional method . I think the Eureka Atom works in a similar way. No gummed up threads and your dial-in setting remains after disassembling and cleaning. I also like the look of them.

It was this video that got me interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SauH...V8s3gTdElXRSh2

Maybe try a Eureka Atom, they get good reviews, are very low in sound output and plenty of reputable vendors who supply and support on this forum.

Yep you're probably right but I am disappointed. I've had 4 grinders over the years including the Macap M4D which is a great grinder but I was looking for a change from the traditional way to adjust and clean burs. I also like hands free dosing and minimal noise which I know the Atom is well known.

This very informative video compares them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4pWp60adws

I had watched that video before when looking for an Atom but rewatching brought a couple of thoughts to mind as I paid little attention to the Ceado (knowing it wasn't available locally). The adjustment mechanism is nice on the Ceado, the extra fineness would be useful. Also he didn't mention the pause capability on the Atom, where you can say if grinding for 9 seconds, press the button to pause when 3 seconds are remaining, give the portafilter a couple of taps to settle, then grind the remaining. Very useful. Very minor point but when discussing visibility he didn't mention the light on the Atom, helps if used under cupboards on early mornings.

I see this is a bit of an old thread but I'll breathe some life into it again.

I have been using a low level DeLonghi grinder and espresso machine for three years, and have decided upgrade my game.

I have decided to go for the Ceado E6P, it seems to get some great reviews, and in the US forums is a bit of a classic go-to grinder

Has anyone on here have some long term experience with this unit? I will pick it up today.

                            Cheers

I bought the E5p. Same as the E6p without the electronics. Its a solid grinder but I havent owned another grinder in its class so i have nothing to compare it to.

I have no regrets buying this grinder. Easy to use and easy to maintain. Consistent grounds everytime. Never disappointing
