It’s cheaper to buy it in Australia than here in Vienna, which is strange since the factory is only an 8 hr drive away [emoji23]
Bain, you are probably reading this on a phone so missing some of these posts and other threads on Ceado. They aren't actually available in Australia, they come up in a search on the au website of an Italian box seller who ships from Italy with the gst implications that has. I am sure they would happily ship to you in Vienna.
Probably not convenient then as Bain in post 18 above and a few others around mentioned he was in Vienna. He hasn't been here since May, so you may not get an answer from him (you can teĺ when someone was last here by clicking on their name)
sorry yes I stopped visiting this site. There was a local dealer in the 20th district, operated out of a cafe. I've since sold the machine and now live in Perth. I had it for several months and it is such a beautiful unit. I wanted to bring it back home to Australia but it doesn't have the Australian elecrical compliance tick. It has the European CE mark or course, but still, wouldn't want to have to deal with an insurance claim. Again, really a beautiful machine, so quiet too.
Prior to buying my Niche Zero I sent a PM to all Coffeesnob site sponsors asking if they were considering offering the Ceados for sale. No responses at all. So I read between the lines and bought a Niche. Pity, as I love the look and function of the E37SD and would have been willing to place an order and wait.
Does anyone else know of any movement regarding legit Aus importers/distributors for Ceado?
Yes, definitely a shame as their grinders look brilliant (IMO, at least).
Most of the other manufacturers offer models suited to our market, so why not Ceado? They offer a wide price range of models, so you would think it easy for them to justify the efforts to sell them here. If they're offered in the NZ market I can't see any reason why not Aus. I can only assume Ceado in Italy are happy with the current "importer" arrangement. I wonder if they realise how many sales this is costing them?
Anyway, I'v blissfully happy with my Niche Zero - it has surprised me and exceeded my expectations, so Ceado's loss I guess.
