Recently bought a set of what appeared to be advertised as genuine Compak K3 burrs from a well known retailer. When I received them, the packaging didn't look right with strange ID nos. and there were no markings on the burrs like my original set had.
I verified with the distributor that all Genuine Comapk burr sets should have the Compak name and part no. stamped into the side of each burr eg "COMPAK K 2058" as per the image below. Their packaging is also unique to Compak. When I obtain the real deal I'll post a photo of this.

Thanks to JetBlack Espresso, who are a retailer that sells the Genuine Compak burrs, for the use of their photo above for ID purposes. (you may need to use Windows magnifier to see the stamped ID)
Online, the Compak K3 burr sets are advertised for around $50-$55 for generic (unknown quality) and $70-$80 for genuine Compak. The generic burrs (anecdotally) don't retain their sharpness as long as the genuine ones and are of unknown quality as there is no branding to identify who they are made by.
It's another case of buyer beware as some retailers appear to possibly be taking advantage of people's good faith in them.
