I have an Iberital Challenge Grinder, and it does a reasonably good job of grinding coffee considering it's low price. Good enough that I'm willing to put up with most of its' faults.
Unfortunately, as many will know, beans rapidly become stale when left in the hopper. For this reason, I like to put the beans back in the bag after grinding.
However, because this grinder lacks any kind of valve or shutter on the hopper, this is a difficult and messy process. However I have a 3D printer, so I thought I could print a simple shutter to close off the bottom of the hopper and make emptying the grinder much easier, cleaner and quicker to perform. Here's the results!
Wouldn't be too hard to adapt the design to fit other grinders with a similar limitation... I actually designed a straight-across shutter as well since I initially forgot about the large black plastic moulding around the hopper...
