  • Breville BCG820BSS - Issues During Operation (grind settings change during operatioN!

    Hey Everyone!

While my breville smart grinder pro is in operation, the grind settings open up to a coarser setting.

For example, if i start grinding on setting 13...during the grinding process it actually opens up to a 14 setting !!

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are the burrs opening up during the grind?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I haven't heard of that happening. If you hold the grind adjustment knob while grinding does it change or stay the same? Does it do it at multiple different settings or just between 13-14? Does it do it again if you find again without adjusting the knob (i.e. 13-14, then next grind 14-15, then 15-16 etc)? Do you actually notice a difference in the coffee (changes in the shot)?

The grind adjustment can be a little funny to settle on a step for me sometimes, usually though I can move the knob and feel a slight click/bump without the number chanting on the screen though, yours sounds like it might be the opposite.

      Update:

the grinder is now jamming with lighter grinds.

Has been taken to Breville's repairer to diagnose and see whether it will be fixed or replaced under 2 year warranty.

Is the knob moving? What makes your day it won't hold a consistent grind?
