Oh really? It might be their first, but it is a long way from being the first. I guess you should never let BS get in the way of a good product sheet

Mahlkonig probably look down their nose at Baratza or any others that don't have a 2k+ Euro price tag
And even then they’d still be wrong. The Eztmax and Mythos2 both have gravimetric dosing and they also have the big euro price.

It does look like a great machine. I'm sure it will be very expensive but then a lot of people will be interested in this. It is obviously well built.

The actual quote is "the first espresso grinder ever, that features grind-by-weight technology for real-time scale controlled dosing as well as MAHLKÖNIG’s pioneering patented Disc Distance Detection". (my italics)

That is true for the simple reason that nobody else will have used the disc distance detection system.

Flashpixx: I still think the thread was worthwhile, there are some interesting commercial grinders on the horizon this being one. Hopefully with this cool tech dropping into the home space. But there are a bunch of negative comments from people who are going to turn new people off this forum or put off people who are looking to talk about cool new stuff. Just ignore the haters and carry on.

Instead of getting worried about external links you can download documents and attach them here in the forum. As JavaPhile once pointed out to me people looking back at the thread later may not have the chance to see it if Mahlkonig remove it.

I reckon this grinder looks super cool, I think there is a gap in the market for a flat burr Niche equivalent. Custom built for home use, small body, big flat burrs, low RPM, zero retention grinder if it incorporated weighing dose even better. Hopefully something appears not costing 3-4k like the current options that are out there.

I've Pm the mods and apologised for the nazi comment. At that point I thought the thread had gone so far down hill so as not to add any value to members. I contributed to that, so to forum members, I also apologise.

The E65s is $3k so I guess the chance of this one coming in under $4k isnt great. But as you say it's a nice looking toy
