Does anyone have access to the update files to allow the firmware to be updated from version 200 to 300? Is there a reason why access to the files seems restricted?

My understanding is that that type of link is usually fine.

Regardless, if you offend or otherwise insult a mod, you deserve whatever card the mod chooses to deal you.

"Grumpy bum link nazi" would probably be worthy of a slap I'd reckon...

I agree it’s good when someone lets us know about interesting coffee related product announcements.

As for the links issue, I thought the site policy was around stopping people from plugging their businesses and eBay listings. I entirely agree with deleting such material.

However a link to a major product announcement from a large overseas manufacturer is of interest to a lot of site followers and surely should be ok right?

For example, say La Marzocco announced a new successor for the GS3. A link to that product overview page would be of great interest and clearly not spam.

Maybe one of the mods could clarify.

Hopefull something appears not costing 3-4k like the current options that are out there.
The E65s is $3k so I guess the chance of this one coming in under $4k isnt great. But as you say it's a nice looking toy

I've Pm the mods and apologised for the nazi comment. At that point I thought the thread had gone so far down hill so as not to add any value to members. I contributed to that, so to forum members, I also apologise.

Flashpixx: I still think the thread was worthwhile, there are some interesting commercial grinders on the horizon this being one. Hopefully with this cool tech dropping into the home space. But there are a bunch of negative comments from people who are going to turn new people off this forum or put off people who are looking to talk about cool new stuff. Just ignore the haters and carry on.

Instead of getting worried about external links you can download documents and attach them here in the forum. As JavaPhile once pointed out to me people looking back at the thread later may not have the chance to see it if Mahlkonig remove it.

The actual quote is "the first espresso grinder ever, that features grind-by-weight technology for real-time scale controlled dosing as well as MAHLKÖNIG’s pioneering patented Disc Distance Detection". (my italics)

That is true for the simple reason that nobody else will have used the disc distance detection system.

It does look like a great machine. I'm sure it will be very expensive but then a lot of people will be interested in this. It is obviously well built.
