First post here, I just acquired a used Lido 3 Grinder and have just finished giving it a good clean and ran some beans through it. While cleaning it I noticed a somewhat strong smell, the neoprene bag it comes in has the same smell. I'm fairly inexperienced when it comes to coffee equipment so really have no idea what the mystery scent is, it could just be the materials used in the grinder.
On another note, I took the grinder apart and reassembled it, and from what I've read a small amount of burr rub is normal on the finer settings and shouldn't effect grind consistency or quality? I'm using it for Aeropress and V60, so won't necessarily need the finer settings, however I would be interested in exploring the effects different grinds have.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
