    Theyre in!

Attilio has waxed lyrical about #1 on the bench at Cosmorex and first deliveries will finally occur this week.

The version received is chrome and stepped- but as those with stepped Macaps will know well, the thread on the burr carrier is so fine that the resultant steps are tiny and of no consequence whatsoever.

    Full report to come....

    Gday fellas,

yes in support of Chriss post above, theyre in port but not in my warehouse yet. And yes as soon as they land in our warehouse Ill get some down to Chris for an overview and report.

I dont have the complete cost of import at hand at this time, but expect the picture will be complete in the next week in time for release of the first grinders which incidentally, will be coming to CoffeeSnobs FIRST.

    Cant wait!

    Regards,
    Attilio (real name)
aka FC, first / original CS commercial site sponsor.

Whats the RRP for this now?
Are you going to give this grinder a review? please?
    Hi CK,

Attilio has stated that he will receive them early next week and hopefully we can get one up on the bench for review very soon after.

Ill be using one as my second grinder for the next few months at least- should make a nice buddy for my K10WBC 8-).

Pricing will be determined once all import costs are known...

    Wont be long now!

    Re: Macap Electronic Doserless

    Hi all,

Good news: They have arrived! Stock of the Macap Electronic have arrived and will be available in the New Year via ourselves and the importer, Cosmorex...

    Features are:

-The power cord comes from the bottom, not from the side.
-Grind time is displayed in 1/10 of a second intervals.

To use it you set your grind as you would using any grinder to get your perfect pour.

To achieve your desired dose, grind the required dose; divide the amount dispensed by the time on the display. Now divide the desired amount by the results and that will tell you what to set the time for to achieve your desired amount. Once that is done, you will have perfect repeatable drop and can repeat it to 1/10th second accuracy every time!

Example: The display for the double reads 6.0. You measure your dispensed amount; its equal to 14 grams. Divide 14 grams by 6.0 seconds and your results are 2.333. That tells you your grinder dispenses 2.333 grams of coffee per second. You want 17 grams? Then simply divide 17 grams by 2.333 and the results tell you to set the time on the digital display to 7.3 seconds. Once thats done, you only need to push a button.

Only criticism from me is it looks like there is more clumping from the Macap- which also seems to be set to grind a fair bit finer....Hmm... :-?
Yeah, that does seem a bit odd.  I left a "please explain" for Dan, so hopefully well find out what was going on there.

Funny as hell how one of the posters said that the Macap next to the Mini looked like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.  "Give in to the dark side of the ... roast?!"

    Cheers,

    Luca
Will be good to see what he has to say there Luca. There is no doubt that the grind is not the same....

I found a review on Macap Electronic v Mazzer mini-e at http://www.home-barista.com/forums/macap-m4-electronic-doserless-vs-mazzer-mini-e-espresso-grinder-t4128.html. Only criticism from me is it looks like there is more clumping form the Macap- which also seems to be set to grind a fair bit finer....Hmm... :-?

Great looking unit Chris - very fluid looking and sure it does a great job! I like the special finger hole design on the lid too.

Good luck with it - will make a very special chrissie pressie!
