Hi! I am a complete newbie to this site. My husband and I both love coffee but he is starting to make more of a "hobby" of it lately. Now we are using a 5 year old cheap GE burr grinder. He has 2 main complaints about it. The first is that even though theres supposed to be 16 settings, it really seems like theres only 4 based on the differences between the settings. The second is the mess it makes. I would like to buy him a new grinder for Christmas. I have been undecided between the KitchenAid ProLine Burr Grinder and the Capresso Infinity burr grinder. I like that the KitchenAid is glass instead of plastic but I like the price of the Capresso
Reading this site though, I was opened to a whole new world of confusion :-[
Now I am thinking maybe the Cunill Tranquilo is the best deal in the KitchenAid price range. We drink drip and espresso about equally. He does occasionally grind some to bring into work to use for his French Press too. At this stage (early in his budding coffee obsession) - are either of these worth it over the Capresso? Any advice (on other models too, I am open to ideas - but about $220 is my high budget limit) would be great!
Thank you so much!
