Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
i might set it back to 13 and go from there.
Using the double basket and roughly the same amount of coffee each time.
The needle went over to the red on the finer grind but tonight the grind was on 15 and it went just under the mustard colour.
Do you find you can constantly get it into the good zone on the gauge?
Thanks for your help.

Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
You cant really compare numbers between machines.
Ballpark is about the best you can do for a starting point, then you have to adjust as youve been doing.
I would have suggested 13 for a starting point, as thats where mine averages for the 6910.
But even after getting it right, I still have to adjust as the beans age.
Are you using the double basket and using the same amount of coffee each time?
Where does the needle hit on the gauge when its pulling a shot?

Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
I had it on 12, but that was tooo fine for the machine. So i tried 14 that was better and now its 15, does anyone else have this grinder that can recommend a good setting for the EM6910?

Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
ok so i now have the EM4080 got it for 159.00 which is pretty good i think.
the difference in the grind was huge. the sunbeam grinds it way finer and more consistent, i found with the new grind i didnt need to tamp it was much?
thanks for the help.

Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
Tell them its "not fit for purpose".
If youre in NSW the law will back you up on that.
Im not sure but thought the KG was cheaper; youd think theyd want you to spend more money.

Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
It was bought from Harvey Norman not sure if im going to be able to take it back, do you think that grinder should have been sold with that machine?
I read the grinders review on this forum about the KG100 grinder not being suitable for bigger machines?
thanks for the input thought that was going to be case.

Re: Delonghi vs Sunbeam
Welcome to Coffee Snobs.
My answer is YES.
The KG100 is known to have limitations in grinding fine enough.
The 0480 will do the job for the 6910.
A work colleague got 10% his 0480 today at the January sales.

Delonghi vs Sunbeam
Hello everyone first time poster.
I recently bought the sunbeam em6910 machine after reading this forum, the coffee machine is great i love it shes only a few days old.
However we got talked into the delonghi KG100 grinder to go with it and im not overly impressed, would it be worth taking it back and getting the EM4080?
I dont have alot of expirence when it comes to this stuff but it just seems the delonghi is getting it fine enough?
any help would be appreciated.
cheers.
