Re: Cheap electric grinders???
Thanks Yeeza, would there be a noticeable difference in the quality of the shot when using stove tops between entry level and mid-market grinders? Ive read other recommendations on this site to buy the best grinder you can afford, would this be limited to use with proper espresso machines?
Thanks

Re: Cheap electric grinders???
How about just an Sunbeam EM0480? Try and pick up one of these for real cheap. I think they are sub $199 usually. Maybe pick up one of these to get you by (and have better than pre ground), sell it when youre ready for a better one.

Re: Cheap electric grinders???
Thanks Chris and Mal, after a fair bit of reading I think I will be much better holding off for a while and saving for a better quality grinder. I like the idea of buying something I wont need to upgrade for a fair while so was thinking about Compak K3 Touch or perhaps Macap MC4 if I can justify the expense. I was thinking doserless would be better considering volume, have heard that you can grind "through the doser" but without trying this I think I like the idea of doserless.
Does anyone know of any better options?
Feel like Ive gone from one end of the market to the other

Re: Cheap electric grinders???
Hi Ryan and welcome...Originally posted by ryan link=1206858786/0#0 date=1206858786Hey everyone
Im a new member and new to coffee completely!
Im a young professional sharing a house with some friends. As time goes by people will move in and out...including myself. This leads me to my question. I am after a coffee set up that will produce ok coffee, is portable, and doesnt take a lot of kitchen space. I decided to buy a Bialetti Brikka 2 cup and have been using pre-ground from a local deli. These are ok for a few short days but soon loose a lot of flavour. I am looking to buy a small grinder that will do the job, are there any recommendations? The ones I have seen are the Bodum C-Mill Electric Coffee Blade Grinder, Breville BCG300 and Breville CG12. Am I wasting my money on one of these grinders? Should I stick with pre-ground?
I have a feeling Im going to be talked into a decent burr grinder
Looking forward to hearing from you
Cheers
Ryan
Im afraid that the news is pretty much Ascaso i-mini or Iberital challenge and then daylight (if you plan to use it for espresso some day)....If you have a look in the hardware for sale thread, you may well find yourself a bargain
