Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
Just tried the pumping whilst grinding, works a treat to get rid of clumping. I now however need to do the switch mod for the Rocky so I dont need 3 hands.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
Thats interesting. I have the lid of a 0.7L ClickClack and without squeezing the release I could just about lift the whole grinder the lid it locks in so tight. I wonder if the difference is in the hopper or the lid?
I love the ClickClack mod, I disassembled the grinder and cleaned it a month or so ago and would not have got more than about 3 to 4 grams of beans and grinds out of the grinder (after 5 months of use). I sweep the chute and pump the lid while the grinder is still running.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
Tried the ziplock bag and it worked a treat!
Though went into BigW today and got a 0.7L ClickClack. Took in my Rocky lid to test fit. Got home and it seems to be a good fit, would of been a bit better being 1mm wider but it creates enough seal to push the stale beans out.
Moves up and down without having to push in the release.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
I used this method this morning on the Rocky - VERY easy and effective. The zip lock bag now resides on the coffee shelf.
Thanks for posting.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
To get mine clump free I simply give the pf a couple of hard taps .... works for me. Saw that some dudes in the States use dental mixing vibrators.....wooohooo.
my 2 cents.
b4b.
Oh yeah, for those going to purchase the ClickClack lid, its the lid that fits ClickClack part# 3015. (written under container base).

Tried pumping the click-clack while grinding and it didnt work for me. I am getting better results with the straightened paper clip.

Re: Rocky and the click-clack lid
This seems to workWould be nice if it is that easy to get it to come out all fluffed up and clump free.
. Just made our evening coffee and the grind was fluffed up and clump free. I still ground into a container and then transferred into PF as I usually do. Pour was quicker so I will try a finer grind next time, the current bath of beans are getting on a bit, will try it with a fresh batch on the weekend.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
Kasa,U4koffee - My rocky fit it perfectly with that item!
My Rocky is brand new, so maybe they have changed the sizes abit?
With the click-clack lids - the white bit in shops do fall off. The one I had was tightly on. I am not sure whether you can put back the white bit back onto the lid.
My Rocky is also brand new. I brought Master Rocky together with Miss Silvia only 2 months ago. I dont think its the Rocky lid, more likely the inconsistency lies with the Click Clack container lids. I had a look at this Coffeegeek thread http://www.coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/grinders/108241?LastView=1208388700&Page=7 and theyre also discussing the inconsistencies with the Click Clack Sizes. Some are saying to get the 0.6, others the 0.7, so who knows? Anyway I havent seen any 0.6 ones, only 0.7 ones, so I didnt have any choice.
I ended up getting some duct tape which matches the metallic silver colour of the click clack lid perfectly, so its not noticeable. With 2 layers of the tape its a snug fit, so much so that I can lift the Rocky grinder with just the Click Clack lid!
So the long and the short of it is, if it fits, great. If not, go get some duct tape and all will be well.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
Dont worry about whether or not the click-clack lids fit, just make your own. Very easy to do. All I did was cut out two disks from plywood which were about 5mm smaller than the Rocky hopper. Then a disk of approx. 1mm thick clear plastic sheeting about 2mm larger than Rocky hopper. Sandwich the plastic between the plywood and I used a long bolt to attach it all together. Perfect fit and works a treat. I even cut the bolt down, put a plastic knob on the end and when pushed all the way into the hopper, you can then put the Rockys native lid on.

Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
My experience with these in the store was;..I put the white bit back on several of them after trying just one at first and with this one..the white bit popped right back off everytime squeezed the buttons. So I then tried this with several others sitting there with white bits off and the same thing happened, no surprise there. Poor design I expect,..leaving most of them probably having to be returned to the manufacturer Id guess. The one I bought,..the white bit stayed on,.. but I bought it knowing it might just take a little while before it too suffers the same fate of its faulty counterparts left on the shelf. Mine doesnt fit my hopper (GranMacinino) as it is about 5mm too small in diameter as it turns out, so its sitting unused at the moment in anycase.Originally posted by Kasa link=1207913748/15#19 date=1208738265With the click-clack lids - the white bit in shops do fall off. Re: Rocky Mod - Click Clack lid
The one I have is 0.6l click clack container. It doesnt fit very tightly but I believe its not meant to fit too tight either. It does a decent enough job pushing out some loose grinds from the grinder but there is still alot of them inside. I do a grinder clean every few months which involves removing the hopper, the upper burrs and there is a lot grind in pretty much every crevice that exist inside. I usually use the vacuum to suck out all the loose grind I can see (and some I cant) and for those stuck on the burr carrier threads I use a toothbrush to brush it off. I reckon I would get enough loose grind in the grinder to fill at least a single basket. And that is after i use the click clack thing after every grind.
