I'm new to the world of espresso, I purchased a delonghi Dedica as my starter machine. I'm using it with unpressurised baskets with pre ground coffee. I know I can do much better. I am planning to move on to unpressurised baskets but know I need a good enough grinder.
I am looking at a second hand rancilio rocker for $250 but it is the doser model and the seller cannot remember when he bought it which doesn't inspire confidence in me.
Thoughts on buying this as my starter grinder? Or should I save the $250 and keep saving for a Eureka Mignon-e which is around $489?
The other option is Breville smart grinder pro but even though it's consistent I heard it's not great for espresso.
Let me know your thoughts!
Edit: I've heard the doser model which is older isn't great for home use because of wasted coffee in the doser. I typically make a double shot in the morning and single in the afternoon and evening.
Also he's willing to sell for $200 which is a huge factor in this decision as opposed to saving for a new grinder.
