Could not see much here about this grinder so thought i’d Share.
I needed a grinder for camping as my old porlex was terrible. Grinding beans was such a chore that i was seriously considering getting a portable pod machine!
I don’t have a problem grinding by hand, my daily driver is a HG1 and i would not have it any other way.... its just that my porlex was inconsistent, the handle kept flying off and it was S L O W.
I was very interested in a lido or a comandante but could not justify the spend just to take camping. While researching grinders around $100 i found the chestnut c2 at coffee parts... I got it and here are some observations:
Grinder is heavy, solid and very smooth to operate.
Max capacity is 25 grams. It just fits.
Adjustment is easy and consistent
Grinds look very consistently sized, and coffee has been tasting good!
Grinding 25gms for Aeropress (14 clicks) takes around 35 seconds (my porlex took 2 minutes)
