Yep, shaft bracing looks like plastic, and top is a hex.

I thought the bracing that holds the shaft in the timemore c was plastic. Whereas it is metal in the g, slim and nano. Not necessarily a bad thing cos my kyocera went 10 years without breaking but there is noticeable wobble in the shaft of the kyocera that isn't in my all metal handgrinder. Does the c have a hex at the top for the handle? One of the pet peeves of the the Japanese ceramic grinders is the penta nut at the top.

I think this has the same SS burrs as the slim. It’s just the adjusting knob that’s plastic, and the adjusting plate looks to be brass. Burrs are SS though,

Even though i purchased this grinder specifically for manual brewing while camping i was curious to see how it was for espresso.
I was bored last night so i dialed it in.

I used 19gms in aimiming for my regular 30-35 gms out (depending how good it looks)

I started at 12 clicks... It was a gusher, i was too slow with the camera.. took about 16 -20 seconds .

Next i dropped back to 9 clicks. It was way too slow, and came out a bit dodge...

Because it was that slow, i jumped back up to 11 clicks for the next one - took about 80 seconds to grind 19 gms ... Time and taste were good on this one:

    In summary...
it wont be displacing my HG1 for espresso at home anytime soon.... but it can do it - and it was fun

It's crazy how much grinder you get for that money. Not saying it's a replacement for those beast grinders you own but it's something I wouldn't hesitate to leave in my backpack. I think the same grinder can be found for around $68 from the Chinese equivalent of Amazon. The timemore slim still looks like the better buy imo cos it has metal internals but these taiwanese and Chinese steel burr handgrinders are a huge step up from the kyocera I had that is being relegated to spice grinding now.

    I got a Timemore Chestnut C2

Could not see much here about this grinder so thought i’d Share.

I needed a grinder for camping as my old porlex was terrible. Grinding beans was such a chore that i was seriously considering getting a portable pod machine!
I don’t have a problem grinding by hand, my daily driver is a HG1 and i would not have it any other way.... its just that my porlex was inconsistent, the handle kept flying off and it was S L O W.

I was very interested in a lido or a comandante but could not justify the spend just to take camping. While researching grinders around $100 i found the chestnut c2 at coffee parts... I got it and here are some observations:

Grinder is heavy, solid and very smooth to operate.
Max capacity is 25 grams. It just fits.
    Adjustment is easy and consistent
Grinds look very consistently sized, and coffee has been tasting good!
Grinding 25gms for Aeropress (14 clicks) takes around 35 seconds (my porlex took 2 minutes)
