Would agree totally with Birkin7, wrapping is the way to go as it is(should be) 100% reversible and even if you do it for a few bucks of film and like the look but not the result your local sign writer or wrap man should be able to do it for reasonable $’s.

Wrapping can look very good, is not too hard to do, especially on the flat surfaces of a grinder. It will not cost a lot and if it does not work out it is easily removed.
Like any job preparation is the key to a good result.

PS- If they can wrap cars then a flat surface on a grinder will be easier.

Have you considered wrapping it instead of painting it? Might be cheaper and potentially reversible. Just a thought
