I think a doser model has more advantages than a doserless.

Thank you both! The grinder I have at home is no where near as fancy as the ones people talk about here.
I cant wait for the course - so much will be revealed!

Re: Ok, so I feel dumb but about doser/doser less.
When you do your barista course you will learn about it espresso chick
But put simply a Doser model has a cylinder that catches the ground coffee and you slide the handle back and forth "click click click” to allow the ground coffee to fall in to the porta filter
A Doserless model grinds coffee and falls directly into the porta filter via a small tube

Re: Ok, so I feel dumb but about doser/doser less.
A doserless grinds the coffee directly into the portafilter (or whatever you put under the spout).
A doser grinder grinds the coffee into a container and requires a flick or 3 of the doser handle to put the correct dose of coffee into the portafilter.
The Rancilio Rocky pictures give a good visual of the differences. Pics should be available on the websites to the left.
There are advantages and disadvantages of both systems.

I am new to the world of making coffee yourself and I cant figure out for the life of me what this doser/doser less thing is...I want to buy a new grinder for myself at home (have an old simple krups one)
I need guidance!
Thanks everyone.
