Congrats mate, great grinder.
I had forgotten about the grind button position. The original S didn’t have that (my 2 roburs at work) but the major does. The button looks the same but it’s just a stop like the screw in the E

hahahahaha, i was expecting that...i wasnt expecting any flavour changes to be perfectly honest, nor do i dare try make a comparison unless someone else was making the coffees and i didnt know which grinder was in use.Originally posted by Dimal View PostOf course, you do realise that we will be waiting for a detailed review not too far down the track.
Bloody nice looking grinder though...
Mal.
I can say though the new interface is brilliant, it is quieter(not that the normal kony e was loud) grinds at about the same speed, and with the new anti clumping and electrostatic wires they have in the chute, the grind is definitely more uniform then the kony e.
Also the portafilter holder, with it been able to be adjusted, and the grind button when you slide the portafilter in is a nice touch.
Also love that you just slide the control lid out the way now rather then lifting it of and having that telephone cable.
Adjusting the grind is also better, the adjusting ring turns so much easier on the new S and the indexing system is another great little touch.
Is it worth the update, well i suppose that comes down to how deep your pockets are and what you are updating from. I am happy with the purchase.
Just need to work out how to use the wifi stuff and set reminders on when to change burrs etc...Manual is failry useless at telling me that stuff,Last edited by JohnA; 26 February 2021, 08:07 PM.

I knew exactly what would happen though and thanks to one of our ex sponsors (chris) for sorting me out with one.

i must admit, i do love the easy to clean grinding chamber without losing your setting, and the indexing system is a nice new feature also.
Now to weight up if i find that worth the extra cost to change over

The S is good don’t get me wrong, but other than less grounds retention it won’t be better.
0.01 second adjustment instead of 0.05 seconds
From a roasters point of view, I think the goal is to help wholesale cafes keep their coffee dialed in from the Roastery via Bluetooth
I’ll be keeping my E at home though.

Mazzer Kony S
Has anyone got one, and has anyone swapped over from the kony E to the S.
Just wondering how they found it, or if it was worth the change over.
Now before people start jumping on and say try the niche or other single dosing grinders or brand x or y, i am not really interested in them and only want opinions from anyone who has tried the Kony S
No disrespect meant to anyone else or other brands out there
