It’s now been a couple of weeks and things have settled down with the grinder. Actually, things have been quite settled from the start. I didn’t have much trouble getting the grind settings.

I’m pleased to report that I’ve been very happy with my purchase. The grind consistency is absolutely amazing and I’ve noticed a big difference in my coffee. I’ve still only got 3 years of making espresso experience and here’s my observation coming from Eureka Mignon (original / E). With the Mignon, the flow rate always increased after the first 10 seconds of extraction. With Atom 75, I’m getting very smooth even slow extraction over the 28-30 seconds . I usually go for medium dark roasts and my dosage is usually around 21gm in a Pullman basket.
For me, numbers are just indicative. It all comes down to what I get in the cup in the end. The result has been amazing with Atom 75. The flavours are more prominent and the aftertaste lasts for longer with the rich flavours.

I’m sure the 65mm burrs won’t be much different either. The only thing to be mindful of when buying 75mm burrs is that the grind speed is really fast. Even adjusting grind settings means wasting slightly more beans in the process.

If you’re single dosing, make sure to adjust the grind setting accordingly. I’ve noticed a difference in grinds depending on the amount of beans in the hopper. I have a big family and we do leave around 200gm beans in the hopper mostly so it’s not an issue. Just need to be mindful when it gets bit low.

Haven’t tried cleaning it yet but will report on it when I get to it.

The Mignon is now ready for my Behmor Brazen plus 3 duties and I’ve ordered it recently.

Will do. It's still very early days though and I have to share in early impressions.
I have been very happy with it overall.

My Atom 75 arrived today. I’ve adjusted the burrs to suit my needs but I didn’t bother to zero out the burrs. Just adjusted from factory settings.
    Early impressions:
    1. The speed is ridiculously fast. I’m getting 20grams in 2.5 seconds. Not sure if this is normal but it is what’s happening. The factory timer settings are 3s for single shot and 8s for double.
    2. The hopper it came with appears to be slightly different from what I see it photos online. It seems like the Atom 65 hopper. Also, there is a cylindrical rubber inset where the hopper goes. The screw for the hopper doesn’t quite align with the hole. Seems like the rubber is supposed to hold the hopper is position as opposed to screwing it in. Although, none of this is an issue as the hopper stays in position firmly. Just curious why this would be the case.
    3. The grind consistency looks great and I could taste a notable difference in extraction. Although, it’s too early for claiming anything as it’s just day 1.

So far, I’m very happy with it. Let’s see how is goes over the next week or so.
I have no idea what burr season is and how long that would take.

What's the retention between shots like on the hc600?
Looks like a great grinder it's just extremely hard to find any reviews about them which probably puts people off.

I've been left very impressed by the HeyCafe 600 – as much the H1 , although the H1 is less an attractive option without the timed dosing for espresso brewing. H1 would be great for switching between methods ..

The HC600 resembles the latest Mazzer Kony S at half the price. 64mm Burrs. Timed dosing - the vertical chute and a reliable portafilter rest.

That makes sense. I don’t think the retention would be any issue for me as it’s still fairly low.

From memory the 75 has a larger burr chamber than the 65 and similar retention. The 60 and 65 have the same burr chamber so the 65 has less retention than the 60.

I’ve placed an order for an atom 75e through CS sponsor Di Pacci. Let’s see how it goes .
    thanks for all the suggestions!

While it seems like a good looking grinder, I'd prefer something without the funnel/doser. Also, price wise it is much higher than options like Atom 65e.

I have a Synchronkia and had an ECM V-64 Titan paired with it. Looked great and ground great too. Only sold it due to the ongoing pandemic known as incurable upgraditis disease (EG-1) but l was very happy with it.

Seems like the Mignon XL is smaller motor than Atom 65e and runs at faster RPM. This might make it more prone to overheating. Eureka might have it all covered in their design but considering it’s such a new grinder, I’m not sure.

Thanks. Will look into this one .

I saw a video comparing Ceado c37j to the mazzer mini. Not sure if the price in US is similar for these. I got a bit concerned as mazzer mini is almost half price these days here.
