it suddenly fell off during the 5 millionth attempt to ease it away using a small screwdriver in the burr screw hole. The seated surface of the burr is very sticky!

That's what I did on a Compak K8 (a screwdriver aimed at the bottom of the burr (at an angle) where it sits in the carrier. A gentle tap with a piece of wood freed it up. You may need to tap in a few different places as Bernard advises.

I'd suggest a good blow out with compressed air and then a bit of a squirt of food grade silicone spray (Helmar H4000)
I'd guess there are no plastic/rubber parts around the burr carrier?
Some gentle heating with a blowtorch or heat gun may help

I don’t think that there is any trick. Jiggle it from the screw holes with a rod or screwdriver, being careful to not damage any threads. Try to barely insert a flat screwdriver between the burr and it’s casing. Try. different locations around.

I'm changing the burr set on my Versalab (embarrassingly overdue) and the top burr is stuck. I've removed the bolts and any visible coffee residue holding it in but still can't remove it, in fact, I can't really get any good grip on it. Presumably, it's still stuck in with coffee residue, any tips on removing it?
