Have been using DeLonghi KG100 domestic conical burr for years without missing a beat, but have recently started micro roasting in Canberra and need to upgrade to cope with orders for ground coffee. My mentor has AK43 but suspect these are a bit beyond my price range and hear it runs a bit hotter than others. Looking for opinions on mid range options and 2nd hand models to keep an eye out for to stay affordable. Thanks

Grinder Upgrade options?

Man, there are so many options. We would need to understand the setting you would be using it in better.
usage
Would single dosing be an option?
Is a hopper critical?
do you need a grind timer or way to measure dose automatically?
do you need to grind large volumes at once?
is the grinder for yourself to taste and develop or for large quantities for customers like grinding an entire bag?
cost
What budget would be very easy to cover?
What amount would be feasible to stomach?
What is definitely too expensive?
Is second hand an option bearing in mind it could stop working tomorrow?
Burr
Connical or flat, both have benefits?

You need a bag grinder. No domestic / low end commercial grinder can grind through a whole bag in one go (or at least not regularly of you want it to survive for long). You need a commercial bag grinder, and those don't come cheap. An EK43 is one such grinder, but they're are others they are likely to be cheaper, especially second hand. New I would expect all such grinders to be over $3k.

Thanks level3ninja, exactly what i thought but hoping to not spend the higher budget until orders consistently higher. What are the "cheaper than AK43 models" you are thinking of?

I more meant that anything equivalent to an EK (e.g. Distinguish KR series, Compak R series, etc) are not going to be in as high demand as an EK due to it being something highly sought after.

More for grinding to bags, was hoping $1k-$1.5k mark and 2nd hand def okay if savings are there. Was hoping to find mid range option to get me through 12 months until I work out next step and can fund larger high end option. Starting from domestic equipment base so cash flying out the door on the range of equipment needed and just trying to stretch where I can.
Have always preferred conical burr, what are advantages of flat?

I'd keep your eye out for a second hand EK43 - but that's mainly cos I have one and think it's amazing.
You can also advertise in Coffee Hardware for Sale in this forum but specify the price you are prepared to pay. That may flush out some trustworthy options for you to consider.
If you are going to look at ebay or gumtree then search for "deli coffee grinder" because that's the description of the larger grinders that are designed to fill a 1kg bag of coffee grinds.
One option to consider is the "Mazzer Major Deli Grinder" with 83mm flat burrs new for $1,300 odd so that may be a solid middle ground option for you to consider. Amazing value and new so full warranty.

They seem to have a couple of Mazzer bag grinders in the price range you're after.
