I hope you did end up buying the Specialita from an Australian supplier, for the small amount you save which is normally reduced with the 10% GST on arrival plus your currency exchange fee on your card, it is not worth it in my opinion.
As Andy and others have said we do get pretty darn good service from the majority of our suppliers here in Australia. I am happy to haggle a price with an Australian supplier as I know that if something does go wrong it is normally a phone call to organise a repair. Good luck with your Italian supplier if thats where you got it from?
I would like to see a grinder turn up in a week from Italy with the current delays in world freight at the moment.

Yep as above, DIPACCI have it going for $749 so bought from there

I think you may have interpreted my comment as a complaint or negative feedback. It was just an observation based on a (yes 1) third parties comment; nothing more, nothing less. The time-saving element alone makes it worthwhile.
"Seem no different" --- on a total sample count of 1 third party?
Hmmm. Gotta love the Internet some days!
I know many CS'rs that have received some very special deals by using the quote form on single items that didn't make the public websites but we have never said you'll get a special price, you might get one but it's not a given.
At the end of the day, it's a simple system that emails many trusted suppliers directly for very little effort on the customers part. Maybe easier and faster than visiting all the websites too and we'll give double money back on the FREE service if anyone doesn't like it.
Every price response I got from all the sponsors was no different to what they advertised on there general websites.
Maurice
Good to know. I was wondering what (if any) discount we'd get by using said forms; seems it's no different to any person asking for a discount/quote via regular contact channels.
I just received a Specialita from one of the site sponsors in the last month. I used the site sponsor quote link to get there "special" Coffeesnobs price. Every price response I got from all the sponsors was no different to what they advertised on there general websites.
Maurice
Yeah, but it wasn't when i sent it.. don't get me wrong.. not complaining that it's taking too long.. i was just saying i haven't heard anything yet
Fair enough but you sent the quote form at 10:30pm AEST on Saturday night. I'm pretty sure you should get some responses from the site sponsors today (Monday) and can then decide if a no warranty import is good value and worth the risk.
I suggest casting a wider net. You can pick up a well cared for used grinder for much less than the Specialita. Decide what you are prepared to pay and place a "Wanted" add on the site. You would be surprised how many members have second grinders getting little use or in storage.
Agree with the comments in that thread though regarding price.
Unfortunate for him i guess..
plus shipping would probably make it even closer to new price..
Thanks though!
