Acaia Orbit 64mm

It's a mini EG-1. It will be a top quality machine, no doubt. 64mm flat. Lets see, the EG-1 goes for US$3,495 so my guess would be U$1,995. Weber does not appear to be over concerned regarding the price point of other brands. I think they see themselves as a category of one. We shall see. Looks terrific.

In the live demo they definitely say "This is our first entry into the market". Pretty confident it would be Acaia.
The grinder sounds a bit funny when grinding...

Or absorb Baratza IP into Breville and let the brand die?

Makes me wonder if Breville buying Baratza has anything to do with it. Are Breville long to move Baratza type grinders over to Breville and make Baratza the premium brand? I agree with you they'll be hard pressed to pull off the impossible.

We can but hope. I'd like one, but cannot look at the B brand.... Once burned (and they were 3rd degree), never again.

In all seriousness, agree 100% it can't be WW, and shouldn't be Baratza as it would just be so out of place next to the rest of their range.
Styling and name screams Acaia though and they are talking around entering a new market for them.

Looks good.... Whispers are that it's going to be branded Baratza (which for me is a negative). Way better to have is branded Acaia IMHO. Perceptions....

Acaia Orbit 64mm
Acaia in collaboration with Weber workshops is bringing us the Orbit.
as someone with strong feelings for grinders, I find the idea of an EG-1 mini and one true nemesis of the Lagom p64 pretty darn excited.
It looks good, runs tried and tested burrs and made by some companies I really like.
It will likely be priced as ridiculously as the lunar (in context) but looking forward to seeing how it is positioned and how it performs.
