Friend of mine just destroyed his hand grinder using a power drill. Like putting a F1 engine in a go cart and being disappointed that the transmission failed.

Oof. I've seen what this does to drill bits, can only imagine what it would do to burrs! (On a small site as an apprentice with a bottleneck in work waiting on some holes to be drilled, but the only drill on site was stuck in hanmer mode, so we tried it. From memory we made a couple of usable "10mm" holes in the 3mm sheet steel before the bit gave out completely)

    Best not....

Saw a really sad top end hand grinder yesterday with ruined TiN burrs and an adjustment mechanism which was pretty locked up. Turns out that it was on grind duty with the assistance of a battery drill.

What I have learned is that if you're ever planing to drive your hand grinder with a battery drill, it's best not to use the hammer setting.
