  • First Electric Grinder

G'day all, I recently began my grinder adventures with a Zolay ceramic conical burr hand grinder. This seemed to work just fine and produced a grind that worked quite well in my one cup filter device that I mostly use.

However I've decided to try an electric one to save a bit of time and because I'm a lazy bugger. So, any recommendation for someone just starting out, preferably something cheap without being rubbish that I can try out. Most of the time I just have filter device that sits on top of my mug so all the grinder needs to do is produce something good for that.

    Thanks.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Second hand something like a Breville BCG450 should be pretty cheap and do what you want. I would jump on Failbook Marketplace and see if there's a Breville or Baratza burr grinder nearby for cheap.

I don't have a budget because, realistically, I have no idea how much these things are worth but I guess around $100 to $200 I would be comfortable with.

I'll have a look to see what might be going here. Thanks.

Agree with level3ninja one of the best grinders for under $200 second hand would be the Breville Smart Grinder Pro.
