  • Lelit William PL72 Grinder - Game changing modification!

I love my Lelit PL72 Grinder but have always been disappointed by the size of the steps and the rigidity of the knob. I found this video showing a breakdown of the unit. https://youtu.be/Riph2_D8mUI It shows how you can reset the pins which fixes the knob being hard to turn. Hidden in the comments is a simple modification which allows you to change the clicks between grind settings from 2 to 4. It's really simple. At 1.22 in the video you can see the under side of the knob, and where the ball bearings sit on springs to act as pins and give you that click when you adjust the grind. In the attached photo you can see there are six holes and the pins are in two (there should be three in yours - they were marked with a 0 on my unit) You simply swop the springs and the screws to the other holes. You actually only need to swop one over for it to work, but I swopped all three. This moves the pins to sit in the internal circle of indents, and gives you twice as many steps. THIS HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO DO THIS. I've had no idea why Lelit doesn't advertise this as an option. Other people in the comment claim to have removed the pins completely allowing you to go completely stepless too.... I haven't tried this yet as I think the vibration of grinding will cause small changes.

I'd don't know if I've explained it well, but if you watch the video, and open up your unit you'll understand it. Tt's pretty simple. Do it now! You'll thank me. Is this well known? Has anyone else done this?

HEY Sasutan it looks like that is just an image of the video as opposed to the video itself? Either that or I'm doing something wrong.
