"Better" beans may be subjective. I roast my own beans, the chaff is just a natural part of it and does not reflect on bean quality.
Looking at your pictures though it looks more like chunks of bean rather than chaff in your case.

I think it's the chaff you describe. Probably just means I need to use better beans and probably clean my grinder more often!

I’m still settling in to my Specialita. Can’t say I’ve seen bean chunks through that gap, but have had the odd bit of chaff escape there.

Not had this issue with my own personally, shouldn't the beans be too large (whole) to come out of such a small opening?

Mignon Specialita Hopper Leak
Hi all, I'm loving my Mignon Specialita but have found it really frustrating that the hopper leaks smaller pieces of beans through the sliding closure tab on the side. Has anyone had this issue and is there something I'm doing wrong? If I push it in much more I'm worried t he bean flow through to the burrs will be resticted. Many thanks!
