Upgrade from Compak K3?

Would the Mazzer Mini be considered an upgrade from the K3? From the specs I think it has slightly larger flat burrs.

But you said the Niche was out of range? You can get it direct from Niche in that range, including taxes / customs.

Yes, I think you are correct.... I just want something that grinds on demand (doserless) without fancy electronics. Can't seem to find anything in the $1000 - $1200 range? Something better than the K3 for grinding for great espresso. ThanksOriginally posted by DaveD View PostIsn't that a bag grinder? Not sure if it's designed for single espresso dosing.

It's a very personal preference sort of thing to be honest.
Best way to find out which you prefer is to head to one of our Site Sponsors such Casa Espresso above, and ask them if they could make you a coffee, using the same beans, on each type of grinder. That way you'll get to decide which you prefer, not what one of us prefers...

Hey Adam,Originally posted by Adam76 View PostThanks Dave, I've never heard of this brand? How long have they been around? Have they got a good reputation? Cheers
They're a brand that comes from the same parent company that makes Mahlkonig grinders. Have a chat to Antony Casa Espresso as he stocks them and can give you his opinion.

You might consider a Heycafe H1 - 64mm flat burrs and not a lot of electronics.

Preferably 64mm burrs, as I have 58mm already. Not sure if bigger is better, but want to make sure the upgrade is worthwhile. Thanks

Yes, medium to dark espresso is usually the go to. Unfortunately Niche Zero is a bit above my pay grade. ?Originally posted by tompoland View PostFor medium or dark espresso it's hard to beat the Niche Zero. I just checked and it looks like they are available directly from their website for shipping in July. For lighter espresso and brew I like the Mahlkonig X54. They are both grinders I have had on my coffee bench but others will hopefully offer their picks.
