I had two 270WI's and i loved everything about them, the look, the workflow....buttttttt both only lasted 14-16mths respectively. :/
First one suffered something similar to what your'e describing. and yes as pointed out it was the load cell. which to have repaired was getting up towards $300!!!! almost half the price of the grinder!

after the second one just died one day i cracked it at spending ~$700 and only get sub 18mths so i bit the bullet and got a niche lol
so disappointed as i realllllly loved those grinders.

edit- both of these grinders would only have maximum 2-3 coffees a day!

Thanks both, hadn't noticed the doubling of the partial dose or my bin being the wrong way around. Tried resetting the dose and using a small cup that fit nicely with heaps of room behind and below to be sure but same issue, I think the doubling of the partial dose was a coincidence as I haven't seen it happen again, the partial doses are usually around 5-6 and then 10-12 though but not always.

G'day Luke! I have a theory haha. I first noticed that you put the grounds bin in the opposite way (as in lip first). Normally I wouldn't think this would be an issue, but it's possible you're pushing the ground bin too far in and the lip may be resting on the back of the unit (I played around with mine just now just to confirm). Even though it means it would be resting on the back panel which is part of the weighing mechanism, the vibrations may be jostling it around excessively as it leans against the back bit, thus giving odd results. Try not to push the grounds bin in too far, making sure the grounds bin isn't resting against anything but is being solely supported by the rubber arms. Even insert the bin the other way around to hopefully avoid that possibility (lip facing you). I remember my weighing played up a few times, and it was always because part of the weighing mechanism or the bin was slightly touching or leaning against something else. Hoping you understood what I meant haha. Let us know how you go!

What about resetting the preset doses? Funny that in your video it stops at 5.1 grams, and again at exactly twice that, 10.2. Otherwise, contact the importers in Perth for advice. Their after-sales service is amazing.

Thanks Robusto, yep unfortunately I tried the firmware update and have your other recommendations without luck, thanks anyway.

Dingo, that problem usually happens when there is some instability in the inbuilt acaia scales. Try the usual suspects: unplugging at the wall, plugging back in. Swing out and back in the weighing arms in case they're slightly stuck. If all fails, you could try downloading the latest software to an iPhone or Apple tablet (not available for Android devices), paring sette and sending the software to it via Bluetooth.

Sette 270wi Stopping Short of Target

    Hi All.

Just bought a Sette 270wi second hand and unfortunately I’m having some issues with the grinder scale that I hope someone might be able to suggest a fix for.

I’m trying to dose out 19g into the provided bin as fitting 19g in the portafilter seems impossible per lots of other posts.

The readout is all over place, bouncing up and down over 10g almost straight away and when you see 19 on the display the grinder stops but then the scale settles and it’s only ground 5g, you can resume a couple of times before it enters burst mode but you still only end up at about 12g and bursting 7g is a pain.

Once the scale settles it seems accurate within 0.1 with my existing espresso scale it just seems to be that it isn’t able to accurately determine the weight while grinding, it doesn’t seem any louder or unstable than the Sette 30 I have so not sure what the issue is.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
