Hi yes I think that larger burrs will have an impact but I feel it would be minor in the cup even with lighter roasts between Eureka grinders in the same family. lancruiser owns a few Eureka grinders and may have some insights. amberale has the P64 also and may have some thoughts.
You may want to think about something like the P64 instead. It is a step up in price but lots of people who enjoy lighter SO swear by that grinder.

Thanks coffeemachine,
I'm using a Profitec P500, the model before they put a PID on it. It's also on the kit list for an upgrade as I'm keen to get my hands on a dual boiler or lever, or both!
If I posted about single dosing with the Atom it would probably have been to say it isn't really viable. It retains too much. I saw a video by Clive Coffee yesterday where the reviewer was stoke that the Atom 75 only retains 2.3 grams of coffee! I laughed, the video was made a few years ago. Much has changed.
I'll check that video out. My sense also is that larger burrs (and by extension more powerful motors) manage lighter roasted coffees better. I like my espresso beans on the lighter side.

Hi CH, I am currently use a Mignon Specialita 55mm, I single dose, I was looking to upgrade to the at the Atom 65 or San Remo all grounds. I was actually reading a post today that you made about single dosing with Atom.
The advice I have been given by folks here is the burrs make the difference and provide different flavours, however size only gives you more speed. Check out this video that talks about burrs from different manufactures and their flavour profiles at the 12 min mark.
I would say that you would not see much of a difference in the cup if you stick with Eureka, but you would grind faster. If you are drinking straight espresso (without milk) you may find more flavours come through, I would think it would be minimal as the burr profiles are the same for these grinders.
What machine are you using for brewing?

I probably won't be upgrading as I make milk based drinks and single dose.

Eureka Atom - going up from the 60e
I have an Atom 60E which I'm happy with, but considering going up to a 65 or 75. If you must know why I am upgrading - upgradeitis...completely incurable, except with an upgrade
I wondered if anyone has had experience with both the 65 and 75 and could tell me if it's worth spending the extra on the 75? I would be swapping in the 300g hopper. I wouldn't be using it to single dose, purely espresso.
Also interested in other recommendations for an upgrade, but I do like the Eureka styling. I really don't like the Ceado range.
