Grinder for Lelit Mara

Something like the Mahlkonig X54 could be a good choice for you. They're great value at around $1000 and would suit your needs. Something from the Eureka range or even a Lelit William to match the machine would also work.Originally posted by chaos75 View PostThanks for recommendation but not sure I want to do the single dose thing any more! ? While perhaps price doesn't dictate quality - as a guide what should I look at budgeting for a decent grinder?

Just sayin....Under the terms as a coffeesnob member....there is a requirement for full disclosure !Originally posted by chaos75 View PostThanks for recommendation but not sure I want to do the single dose thing any more! ?

Cant recall the exact clause / sub section number ....but Ask Javababy he'll have 'em.
What the internet doesn't make clear -
Grinder rules ......
1/Size does matter !
Lighter roasts such as a medium roast place more emphasis on the grinder and its capability,
As compared straight up to a trad. dark italian roast for instance.
2/ Dosing Grinders .... Grind to a set time (the vast majority in the mass market) not to a set dose weight ! of say +/- 0.2g for instance.
If your chasing flavour consistency and the ability to experiment and bring forth a taste that you like then I consider the above relevant.
If however what your after is a cup of 'joe' quick simple no fuss.....pls disregard.
To your Question above......Keep a keen eye in the F.S. section.
Why not Try a step up from the Mini and go with what I refer to as the 60mm class flat blade (63-65mm burrs).
I reckon they're the sweet spot of 'bang for your buck'.
One of these ex in an electronic version - $800 or they're about's.
But then why ask me, As my wife knows all to well I was born with an unfortunate medical condition known as CTAS.

I would prioritise the grinder simply because the espresso machine can't live up to its potential unless the grinds are top notch.
Definitely look at the Niche Zero for that roast depth and milk.

I’ll be making milk drinks and lean towards medium to dark roasts
Budget wise, hoping I could squeeze both machine and grinder under 3k

Welcome back to the real espresso world! What sort of coffee do you prefer? Roast level (Light, medium, dark), milk? And budget?

Grinder for Lelit Mara
During lockdown we bought a Jura as the wife wanted to press a button and get her coffee. I subsequently sold my VBM Junior + Mazzer.
Well wife’s back onsite at work and I want to go back to “making” my own coffee.
From what I’ve been reading, I’m leaning towards the Lelit Mara. Any recommendations on good grinder to pair?
For context, when I had my Mazzer I’d weigh out my beans and grind. At that time, I was thinking of getting a Eureka Atom for its dosing capability.
