I have the Lido OG and have had some time to use it as a travel grinder. The grind setting is great and works very well, both for fine tuning in the espresso range and quick changes to filter/moka pot/press pot and back.
If you have tried the earlier Lidos, the OG is a little slower (and easier) to grind with. Different burr geometry with less aggressive burrs. Very very good results in the cup for espresso, and works well for filter too.
The Lido Basic is cheap enough that you might ditch your plans to look for used ones. It retains the more aggressive burrs, and also the very smart hopper/crank handle from the earlier models (Lido 3, Lido E-T, Lido 2). Super easy to use. Lido E-T is better for travel since its handle folds. Don’t know if you can get it still.
Coffee grinds sometimes stick a bit in the plastic grinds catcher. Never seen them do that so far in the metal catcher, but they might, depending on weather and beans (eg very freshly roasted dark beans stick more to everything). In all, I am keeping the OG as my go to travel grinder, and letting go of my E-T (oldest son will have it, it is in Sweden anyway so not much use to you).

Lido OG
I was wondering whether anyone has used the Lido OG. I'm really interested in the grind size adjustment, I like how easy it is to tell exactly what number it is dialed into and that its semi-stepless. Are there many others like that on the market?
I've seen it online at Orphan Espresso's website but I can't seem to see any Australian companies that stock it. Does anyone know whether this grinder has made it to Australia?
I quite like the look of OE's grinders (despite their giant size) and I'd love to source a second hand OG or something similar, although maybe this is the wrong forum to ask about that.
