  • Macap M2M Grinder not working

Wondering if there are any experts who can offer advice to help get this M2M up and running!

When switched on there is a faint hum noise coming from the grinder, once the red on demand button is pressed that is. The spring is not working on the button, but don’t see this being related.

I’ve cleaned out the grinder throughly to ensure it’s not clogged up.

And I’ve also opened the base to access internals and test the Capacitor’s capacitance as this from research can be an easy fix for some problems - in this case testing at 9.28 so it is within specification (5% of 10uF).

Is the motor finished and needing replacement? If so, I can’t find this part anywhere online. Not sure if worth fixing or cost prohibitive to do so. (It’s not under warranty).

    Appreciate any advice or input.

    Cheers

I'd get in touch with the main Aussie distributor to see if this can be a possible motor failure. Not sure who that might be...
Not a common failure mode though...

Thanks for the reply Mal. I’ll drop Disave a line and see what they say.

Turns out they just pass you onto a local service tech rather than offer advice or parts.

Fortunately I managed to get it going in the end. The ‘humming’ was form the motor trying to turn but being jammed / stuck.

After another vacuum from above, and some scraping from the front after removing the chute, I managed to get the driveshaft unstuck and spinning freely with a strong turn by hand using a microfibre for grip.

Just waiting on a new spring for the trigger/switch and I’ll then get it all assembled to see how it performs.
